The Pacific Collegium
...a chamber ensemble based in Oakland, California, aims to bring exceptional vocalists together with period instrumentalists in adventurous exploration of the marriage of text and music, the meeting of the natural instrument with the artful.  Specializing in 16th- through 18th-century small-ensemble vocal and choral music as well as other repertories, the Collegium is committed to the presentation of quality virtuosic literature in performance, as well as liturgical, settings, both producing its own concerts and cultivating relationships with religious institutions to supply the musical element for traditionally-structured observances. In line with a commitment to authentic historical performance practice, the Pacific Collegium maintains a working association with the Oakland-based Pacific Boychoir Academy, who provide boy trebles for repertoire-specific projects. The Pacific Collegium sings twice monthly at the 12:30 p.m. Sunday Tridentine Latin Mass, as well as for other special feasts, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, Oakland, singing full Gregorian propers, and often presenting complete Renaissance polyphonic Mass settings. The Pacific Collegium is Artist-in-Residence at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Oakland.
